Centrecare - East Maddington Child and Parent Centre are celebrating Children's Day in their playgroup, exploring Australian animals and learning the names of each in Noongar, and looking at the season Djilba by looking at flowers that start to blossom and birds that started nesting, creating symbols with playdough and learn the meanings of each, reading Aboriginal stories, colouring in the Little Footsteps, Big Futures colouring in page and collage some footprint to represent Little Footsteps, Big Future. They also have some Aboriginal students coming to join for mat time, they will read a story and sing some song in Noongar.

Students will design their own Totem Cone that represents a strength they bring to the classroom. Students will enjoy some Lemon Myrtle and Kakadu Plum Popcorn. Take the cone to the Yarning Circle and enjoy the bush flavours. Students will enjoy some Bush Tucker Punch with a slight hit of ‘River Mint’ to add to the experience.
