A Place for Culture – Expression of Interest Form
A Place for Culture is a professional learning and development opportunity that supports Early Childhood Education and Care educators, leaders and service providers working in non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services to build inclusive early learning environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
A Place for Culture workshops will be delivered in major metropolitan locations across Australia throughout 2026, with workshops to be announced in:
- Gadigal Country – Warrane/Sydney (two workshops scheduled for June 2026).
- Kaurna Yerta – Tarntanya/Adelaide (two workshops scheduled for June 2026).
- Whadjuk Noongar Boodja – Boorloo/Perth (two workshops scheduled for August 2026).
- Gimuy Walubara Yidinji Country – Gimuy/Cairns (one workshop scheduled for September 2026).
- Turrbal and Jagera Country – Meanjin/Brisbane (two workshops scheduled for October 2026).
- Ngambri and Ngunnawal Country – Canberra (one workshop scheduled for November 2026).
A Place for Culture is currently taking enrolments for Naarm/Melbourne and Djilang/Geelong.

The workshop is free for participants, funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA). Participants are responsible for any travel or personal expenses.
Places are limited to three participants per organisation. Additional participants may be added to a waitlist.
Enrolment Information
Fill out the expression of interest form above to join the waiting list for A Place for Culture.
After your enrolment is confirmed with SNAICC:
- You will receive an email from SNAICC with details of your in-person workshop.
- You will recieve a request to complete a short self-assessment survey via Google Forms (this will take less than 5-10 minutes).
- Approximately eight weeks before the workshop, Early Childhood Australia (ECA) will provide login details to access the online learning.
- Finally, you will have access to online learning for up to eight weeks before the workshop and for four weeks after.
A Place for Culture is delivered through a blended learning model, including:
- Self-paced online learning; approximately 6–8 hours.
- One-day, in-person workshop facilitated by SNAICC.
- Online yarning circle to reflect and share learning with peers.
- Certificate of participation on completion.
This approach allows participants to build knowledge at their own pace and then apply learning in a supportive, interactive environment.
Participants will have access to two self-paced online learning programs up to eight weeks before the in-person workshop:
- Program 1: A Place for Culture (Four courses | Estimated 3–4 hours total)
- Program 2: A Place for Culture in the Early Years (Two courses | Estimated 1–2 hours total)
Participants are strongly encouraged to complete the online learning before attending the in-person workshop, as it provides important background knowledge that will be built on during the in-person session.
