SNAICC supports Courtenay Dempsey as he stands against racial abuse

September 1, 2015

1 September 2015 | General Interest

SNAICC proudly supports Courtenay Dempsey’s decision to stand against racism and raise awareness of racial abuse. Racism has no place in any society, and this type of hurtful behaviour should not be accepted by anyone.

Through his endeavours to educate the wider community on this issue, Courtenay continues to show strength, leadership and compassion as a respectable role model for all Australians.

Courtenay was the target of racial abuse on social media following the Essendon Football Club match in Round 22. Courtenay took immediate action to take a stand against the abuse, and released a statement via the Essendon FC website.

SNAICC worked in partnership with Courtenay as he promoted National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day 2015 as an official ambassador.

SNAICC echoes Courtney’s statement that attacks on race, sexuality or mental health should not and will not be tolerated.
