SNAICC – National Voice for our Children has provided a submission to the Senate Education and Employment Legislation Committee on the Inquiry into the Family Assistance Legislation Amendment (Jobs for Families Child Care Package) Bill 2016.
SNAICC has developed a wealth of experience over decades on understanding the issues of our children, families and communities, and gathering both literature and experience-based evidence on the needs of children and the strategies that work to improve their outcomes.
This submission follows an initial submission from February 2016, which was provided alongside significant research pro bono from Deloitte Access Economics on the impact of aspects of the Jobs for Families Child Care Package on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
SNAICC urges the Senate Committee to consider the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and implement the minor changes required to ensure their safety and wellbeing is not compromised.
