At the beginning of the year SNAICC was informed that our funding via the Federal Government’s Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) would be significantly reduced, cutting funding to a notable area of SNAICC training. Since learning of these cuts SNAICC has spent a considerable amount of time and energy comprehensively reviewing our functions and operations. Unfortunately, we have been unable to avoid making some significant changes, including the need to make some positions redundant.
Moving forward, SNAICC’s Sector Development work will be redesigned to encompass the translation of research into genuine sector and practice development, leveraging SNAICC’s recognised strengths as a national leader in policy and advocacy.
SNAICC has a wealth of expertise and best-practice resources that we will continue to make available to the sector, allowing us to increase the growth and proficiency of the sector, promoting the work of our members, as we collectively provide vital services and supports to some of the most vulnerable people in Australia.
Throughout this process SNAICC has never lost sight of our values and commitment as a voice for our children. The changes to our Sector Development operations are being implemented to increase the broader capability of the sector and ensure we are effectively supporting our children, families, communities and members.
