This program provides practical tools, incorporating and showing respect for local strengths and culture. It focuses on holistic transition programs to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families in their journey from pre-school to primary school.

Early years cultural competence
Learn more

Develops cultural competence for staff in non-Indigenous early childhood education and care services to improve service access and service quality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The development of a cultural competency framework is required to building understanding, skills and strategies that support service staff to engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
