From Early Years Through to School Transitions
This program provides practical tools, incorporating and showing respect for local strengths and culture. It focuses on holistic transition programs to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families in their journey from pre-school to primary school.
Develops cultural competence for staff in non-Indigenous early childhood education and care services to improve service access and service quality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The development of a cultural competency framework is required to building understanding, skills and strategies that support service staff to engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
This program provides training and accompanying resources for educators and community members who provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander playgroups or parenting programs. These educational sessions will support educators, parents and carers to apply a cultural lens and use evidence-based strategies to increase children’s social, emotional and educational development.
