Program provides scholarships to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander female directors

June 26, 2015

26 June 2015 | General Interest

Applications are now being accepted for the Cultural Diversity Scholarship program, which is aimed at supporting an increased representation of women on Australian boards and fostering emerging female talent.

The program will provide 55 scholarships to current and emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse female directors.

In this stream, 30 scholarships for the Company Directors Course and 25 for the Foundations of Directorship program will be awarded, in addition to a complimentary 12-month membership to the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

The Company Directors Course covers the full range of director and board responsibilities and accountabilities, while the Foundations of Directorship program has been designed to provide a practical introduction to fiduciary duties and the governance environment.

The AICD is the nation’s leading organisation for directors, and is dedicated to making a positive impact on society and the economy by promoting professional director education and excellence in corporate governance.

Applications will close Monday 20 July. For more information about the program, including applications guidelines and selection criteria, visit the AICD website.
