The Australian Government has recently released the second three-year plan for implementation of the National Framework for the Protection of Australia’s Children 2009-2020 (National Framework). This includes a commitment to an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specific plan across each of the six outcomes of the National Framework.
SNAICC is currently supporting the development of clear and specific strategies within each of these areas that will strengthen participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in decisions impacting children and centre focus on community led initiatives. SNAICC is part of the Coalition of Organisations Committed to the Safety and Well Being of Australia’s Children and facilitator of the Closing the Gap Working Group.
