The Close the Gap Coalition is gearing up for National Close the Gap Day 2014. You and your organisation are invited to take part in the day by hosting an event or activity to raise awareness of, and support for, the campaign.
National Close the Gap Day is the largest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health event in Australia and next year will be held on 20 March.
The Close the Gap Campaign is a long-term, government supported framework that aims to reduce the health gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians.
While progress is being made on some key health indicators (such as a decrease in infant and child mortality rates), there remains a vital need for continued commitment to equalising the health gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians.
You can play your part in supporting health equality by registering your event for National Close the Gap Day. All organisations and individuals registering events will receive a registration pack outlining how health equality can be achieved by 2030 by working together.
