SNAICC exists to see all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children grow up healthy, happy and safe. Working with communities to advance the rights of our children, we believe that all children deserve to thrive and fulfil their potential.
As a Communications Officer within the SNAICC team you will showcase the success stories of our members and promote all of the positive outcomes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children achieve when they’re connected to culture and community. Speaking to audiences through social media, websites and campaigns you will present SNAICC’s understanding and approach to the issues faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children across the country.
Our ideal candidate is a passionate, enthusiastic individual with a strong understanding of our communities and the issues faced by our children and families. We’re looking for someone who uses writing as a creative outlet for storytelling, and is willing to use that skill to fight for a brighter future for our children.
This challenging role includes:
- Writing content for SNAICC’s social media, eBulletin and websites, presenting issues as they relate to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children
- Developing and delivering marketing strategies for SNAICC’s campaigns, including National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day, Family Matters, and the SNAICC National Conference
- Preparing official statements and media releases, considering SNAICC’s positions and the interests and needs of members, communities and services
- Managing the production of SNAICC publications and promotional tools, from concept through to development and distribution, and maintain SNAICC’s websites, social media pages and subscriber lists
SNAICC strongly encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply
