Child protection workers in New South Wales have complained of being shuffled from office to office to cover staff vacancies, preventing them from getting to children in need, according to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald.
After revelations the NSW Department of Family and Community Services is failing to see a growing number of vulnerable children, a senior bureaucrat has also admitted caseworkers spend so much time bogged down in paperwork that they struggle to meet those at risk.
