Aunty Sue Blacklock to host CFCA webinar on Child Placement Principle

August 12, 2015

12 August 2015 | Community Announcements

Aunty Sue Blacklock will host an upcoming webinar on exploring ways in which the implementation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle can be improved.

The webinar, which will be held on Thursday 27 August from 1.30pm AEST, will explore how the barriers to implementation can be overcome by increasing the understanding of the Principle and its purpose.

The webinar will also act as the launch of a new CFCA paper, Enhancing the implementation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle, from Professor Fiona Arney, who will also co-host webinar.

Register for the webinar to take part in the discussion that aims to promote safety and cultural connection for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, their families and communities.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle (ATSICPP) was developed in recognition of the devastating effects of forced separation of Indigenous children from families, communities and culture. Concerns with the implementation of the Principle, however, have been raised for many years.

Learn more about the ATSICPP in the SNAICC Policy and Research area.
